What am I doing New Year’s Eve? Hopefully tying the knot with Zooey Deschanel. Move over, Joseph.

HAPPY NEW YEAR / The Best of 2010.

As they year 2011 steadily approaches, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody who made 2010 one of the best. May all your hopes and dreams come true and your expectations be surpassed in the next 365 and 1/4 days.

Here is a pick of some of the best entries from the DEMUS DIARIES this year. God bless you all.

Love,

D3MU5

In January, my band Salmon Jack released its second single, ‘One for the Back Catalogue”. The video was shot in a playground near Brick Lane, east London.

February meant long nights in the news room in what was the final year of my Journalism degree.

In March, I became the lead guitarist of indie band, Mucky Pups, which was a first for me in such a role. My fellow band members would soon become very good friends and we would have many stories to tell.

April meant a trip to Nigeria to commemorate the one-year anniversary of my father’s burial.

In May, I met one of my journalistic heroes, John Snow.

There’s something magical about the summer that magnifies every positive emotion by about ten times. I used it as an opportunity to do as much as possible and catch up with as many friends as possible. Here’s a photo of my friend Liz, taken in Victoria Park, east london, a few weeks after graduation.

In July, I visited Scandanivia for the first time and enjoyed a much needed, week-long vacation in Denmark, staying in a beautiful summer house near the beach with friends.

In July, I was officially awarded a Bachelor of the Arts degree in Journalism, with upper second class honours.

September and October were difficult months. After the mirth and the joys of summer had passed, I realised that real life as a working man had begun. I feared I would never find a job and begin to achieve my goals, though it was not for the want of trying. However, it wasn’t long before I was back in the game.

In November, I discovered who my friends were when they threw me a surprise party. The hairs on the back of my neck still stand whenever I recall that night. My father was right.

In December, the snow came hurling down on London town. I took this photo of my colleague and friend, Adam Bernstein, outside the office in the early stages of the powdery, white onslaught.

In a few hours time, the next chapter of the DEMUS DIARIES will begin. Until then, you can relive all of the entries from 2010 - including those listed above - by clicking here. I look forward to seeing you for a successful 2011…
